Balchik was once part of the Romanian Empire. The Romanian Queen Maria built a Summer Palace and a Botanical Gardens there. The Royal complex included a chapel and a villa where she entertained Romanian aristocrats. After the War in 1940, Balchik was once again included in Bulgarian territory.
Varna is the second largest city in Bulgaria and is widely called the seaside capital of Bulgaria as it is the biggest city on the Bulgarian coast. Varna is over 11 km long, while its width is rapidly expanding with new trendy residential areas. The city's structure
resembles an amphitheatre as it follows the curves of the Bay of Varna.
With its many shops, museums, fun fair, Dolphin Park, sophisticated dinning and nightlife, it’s a city well worth visiting.Varna’s International airport has direct flights from the UK and Europe all year round. Airport transit time approx 15 minutes.
